Showgirl Workshop (Student)

After 2 sell-out shows at The Vanguard, and 2 sell-out workshops at Blush, she's back!! In her workshop learn to tap into your inner showgirl as Shay shares some backstage secrets including the audition process, quick changes, the perfect Showgirl walk, and of course some sample glamour choregraphy.

Burlesque Variety Course

Tuesday 22nd May - 7pm
This 4 week course will cover a spectrum of burlesque performance and dance techniques including classic striptease, ostrich feather fans, chair dance and performance for stage. The latter will include posing well to flatter your body, leg, feet and arm placement to ensure long lean lines and will include some basic beginner ballet moves.

Lap Dance Workshop

Saturday 26th May - 4pm
Gain confidence as you unleash your inner goddess with Daisy! You will learn seductive lap dance moves (both standing and floor work) and learn how to connect with the receiver of your performance without touch. Tips on finding your own style and grace and a giggle will all be experienced in this workshop! The class will finish with a routine you can show off to that special someone in your life! Pole Styles Workshop - Dirty Dancing Routine

Saturday 26th May - 12pm
This 1.5 hr workshop will focus on dance choreography, based around the pole. This workshop will help build stamina and fitness when pole dancing. Each workshop will have a different routine and a diferent style, and is suitable for all levels of pole. In this workshop Sarah will take you through the classic steps from Time Of My Life.

Taster Pole Dancing Class

Tassel Twirl & Shimmy Course

Thursday 24th May - 8pm
This course is for the more experienced burlesque student. Perhaps you have completed a burlesque beginner’s course or feel comfortable with the next step of putting together a performance piece that incorporates narrative and dance steps, executing more of a theatrical piece. Come and learn the art of seduction - tips for both on and off the stage! The routine you will learn will include tassel twirling, stocking removal and bit of chair dance to mix it up! Nudity not necessary.

Showgirl Workshop (Masterclass)

Brisbane's Shay Stafford has returned from 12 years as a leading dancer at the Moulin Rouge and Lido de Paris. In her book Memoirs of a Showgirl, Shay shares the ups and downs of life behind the scenes in these famous cabarets. This workshop is for more advanced students, performers and instructors. It will have more advanced choreography as well as more stage tips Shay's last workshops at Blush booked out in 2 days, so book in now to avoid disappointment!!

Friday Night Flirts – Cheeky Chair Dance Classes

Blushettes perform at The Opera House

We're very proud of our pole dancers and burlesque beauties who performed for 800 people at the Opera House Staff Christmas Party on Thursday night. The Blushettes rocked out their Madonna MegaMix on the balcony of the lobby, with the Harbour Bridge as their background. And our Burly Q girls stunned the crowd with their shimming and shaking.

This workshop will teach you how to increase your flexibility and enhance your pole tricks at the same time! You will learn how to be more flexible in your lower limbs and torso area. You don't have to be flexible to do this workshop, the idea is we help you with that, so its suitable for all levels!

Learn some new pole tricks and combos with Amber Ray, APDC 2011 Finalist & Miss Pole Dance 2010 Runner Up. Lady Gaga Dance Workshop

In this fun dance workshop you will learn to dance like Lady Gaga and her Haus of GaGa/Dancers. Steph, who is trained in jazz, cabaret and musical theatre, will teach you classic Gaga moves as well as taking you through the infamous routine Bad Romance. No dance experience necessary.

Contemporary Pole Workshop

Amber is extensively trained in Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Classical, so be prepared for challenging combinations, exercises to improve confidence, technique and style. Neo Burlesque Workshop

This workshop will be dedicated to the Neo burlesque-modern interpretation of traditional tease. UK burlesque artiste Mimi Le Noire will introduce you to new ways of creating burlesque acts using modern music. High heells are essential!

Burlesque Performance Course

Over this 6week course will learn a themed choreographed routine to one of Prince's classics, Cream, which you will be performing at Blush Dance School's 4th Birthday Party held at the Newtwon studio on Friday 30th March. Some burlesque experience necessary.

Neo Burlesque Course

Whilst still having its roots in the traditional sense of burlesque, the theme of your 4 week Neo Burlesque course will be based on putting together an act with a fantasy and obscure storyline. This course will up the ante on theatrics and narrative and routine music will be post 1960s. You must have done at least a Burlesque Basics course to participate in this course.

Vintage Chorusline Showgirl Course

Ever wanted to be in a chorusline of leggy ladies?? If you wanna do high kicks and some vintage showgirl choreography then this course is for you, you will feel like you have just stepped out of a hollywood film from the glamorous golden era! A bit of tapping, kicking and turning in time, all to vintage showgirl music. You can wear flat shoes or kitten heels, extreme high heels not recommended.

Intermediate Cabaret Course

This course which will focus on the song & dance that is Cabaret. In this course Steph will teach more advanced dance moves, as well as develop a new and inspired cabaret routine. This is perfect for students who have already completed one of our Cabaret courses, or who have some dance experience.

Stretch & Flex Course

This 4 week course will assist you in learning how to be more flexible in your lower limbs and torso area. Gentle stretching techniques using physio posture and yoga stretches will gradually create awareness in your body allowing it to ease into a more fluid state. You don't have to be flexible to do this course, the idea is we help you with that! Worried that one class a week won't make you flexible? There are lots of take home stretches that you will be addicted to that will ensure each week you will see a noticeable difference!!

Dirty Dancing Aerobic Workout Course

This 4wk course will help you get back into shape. Its based on the Dirty Dancing Workout, and is aerobic based rather than dance based. Each week you will learn a new workout to the classics from the soundtrack, including Love Man, Do You Love Me and Johnnys Mambo.

Lets Move! - Move Your Body Workshop

This was so much fun the first time, we thought we'd do it again!! Come and learn the Flash Mob routine made famous by Beyonce. This routine has been learnt by millions of students and dancers all over the world, even Michelle Obama has been seen doing it. Set to a remix of Beyonce's hit 'Get Me Bodied' this routine guarntees a workout!!

Lyrical Jazz Workshop - Beginners

Come and learn some basic jazz technique including high kicks, turns and leaps! This is a great workshop for everyone and will be particularly beneficial to dancers from other backgrounds. Lyrical jazz is a slower style of jazz ballet that focuses on technique and often reflects the lyrics of the song being danced to. The routine will be to a sultry soul song with fluid and graceful movements with a touch of drama!!
